JSS Session I -Intensive:
June 12 to June 28, 2009 (2.5 weeks)
Audition Required
Junior Student Seminar 1 (JSS1) is designed to meet the needs of accomplished young musicians who enjoy challenges and thrive in an intense and concentrated musical environment. JSS students receive two 30-minute private lessons per week on their primary instrument and an optional 30-minute lesson per week on a secondary instrument for an additional fee. In addition to their solo studies, students have the opportunity to develop their musical skills through chamber music, wind ensemble, orchestra, piano class, theory/composition, choir, and performance class. Students are encouraged to participate in the concerto competition for an opportunity to perform with the orchestra.
JSS Session 2:
August 4 to August 16, 2009 (2 weeks)
Junior Student Seminar 2 (JSS2) is ideal for young musicians who are looking to broaden and improve their musical skills in a nurturing and creative environment. The JSS curriculum includes private lessons, chamber music, string or wind ensemble, theory/composition, studio class, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, performances classes and recitals. More advanced students are encouraged to participate in the concerto competition held during the first week of camp for an opportunity to play with the orchestra.

Junior Student Seminar 2
Audition is not required but encouraged from JSS2 applicants to help faculty in planning repertoire and assigning chamber groups. Please feel free to send a short solo and a major scale demonstrating applicant's instrument range. Include the applicant name, instrument, title of piece, composer, and movement (if applicable) with the audition file.
